Hi all,

My broadband was slowing down somewhat and i swapped to virgin 10meg cable which is faster but i am still getting the same special problem sometimes.

It is most common in outlook, but happens in internet explorer often as well. Everything appears to freeze for a good 30 seconds or more. So i do a speed test and it says 8-9 meg....

I just ran a speed check today and got a VERY interesting result which i do not understand. Yes it came up and said 9 meg download speed.

Then it said testing upload speed and NOTHING happened at all for about a minute. Finally it got going and went up to about half a meg which is fine for upload.

This i think perfectly identifies my problem, at odd times i am getting ZERO bandwidth and then back to normal. I thought this was a contention ratio problem on the pipex ADSL but I am getting the same problem on virgin cable.

Different technology, different routers etc. Anyone have any idea what causes this??

I am using a pc with windows Vista

I am running AVG anti virus

I can't think of anything else that could be causing this/

hi friend i would like to give you some suggestions to get increase your speed below,you first switch off your modem then restart again ,after that you just clear cookies ,stop multiple downloads from sites then u check your internet speed from here by use this link http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/ , if there is a problem again means just contact your service provider....Hope its help...

Hi friend

You are using Cable broadband or Wireless . If Cable broadband Check your telephone cable any disturbance is there.
